Sodium hyaluronate, the sodium salt of hyaluronic acid, is a naturally occuring substance which is present throughout the human body. It is a polysaccharide consisting of beta-1,4 linked units of sodium D-glucuronate–(beta-1,3)–N-acetyl D-glucosamine. It is believed to play a very important role in the protection of cells, maintaining tissue integrity and moisture retention.
Its unique rheological, lubricating and moisturization properties make Dekluron a versatile ingredient in cosmetics.
