AEROSIL R 972 is a hydrophobic fumed silica aftertreated with Dimethyldichlorosilane. It has a specific surface area of 90-130 m2/g and pH value of 3.6-5.5. AEROSIL R 972 improves the shelf-life and hydrophobicity of liquid systems. It provides rheology control and acts as an anti-settling agent in complex formulations. AEROSIL R 972 maintains free flow and anti-caking in powders. Its unique properties make it suitable for pigment stabilization and improvement of corrosion protection in applications.
