BAYTEC ENC 55P is a 450-molecular-weight polyether triol containing trimethylolpropane (TMP). BAYTEC ENC 55P is typically used in combination with other chemicals to produce solid polyurethanes with a heat deflection temperature of 70°C (158°F). This allows the polyurethanes to withstand higher temperatures without deforming, making them suitable for applications that experience temperature fluctuations and need to maintain their shape. BAYTEC ENC 55P is slightly hygroscopic so containers need to be kept tightly closed to prevent moisture contamination, which can negatively impact processing. When stored at the recommended temperature between 15°C to 49°C, BAYTEC ENC 55P maintains its viscosity and performance. Its clarity also allows any contamination to be easily visible. Typical end uses include battery sealing, cable joint sealing, and encapsulation of electrical components, where the polyurethanes protect against environmental factors like moisture while maintaining flexibility.
