DYNASYLAN OCTEO

DYNASLYAN OCTEO is a monomeric medium-chain alkyl-functional silane that exhibits superior hydrophobicity on substrates and forms weather- and moisture-resistant bonds to substrates as well. It can be used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity on inorganic surfaces like concrete, glass, inorganic pigments, or mineral fillers. The medium-chain alkyl functionality results in unique compound properties when it treated minerals or pigments are incorporated into polymers, e.g. polyethylene or polypropylene. It provides benefits like waterproofing by impregnation when used as a water-repellent on inorganic surfaces like concrete and compatibility improvements between pigments or inorganic fillers and organic polymers or solvents, allowing easy pigment or mineral filler (e.g. ATH, MDH) dispersion. These properties make it suitable for applications in the advanced materials industry where durability, compatibility and dispersion of inorganic materials is required.
