ALOX 2165

ALOX 2165 is a rust preventive additive designed for use in petroleum solvent and/or oil dilutions. It is free of barium and other heavy metals. Formulations based on this material are capable of depositing thin, waxy films that provide exceptional protection to ferrous metal surfaces when exposed to corrosive atmospheres. Compared to earlier generations of thin-film rust preventive technology, ALOX 2165 provides improved protection in salt spray environments, capable of exceeding 90 hours of protection, as measured by ASTM B117 test method. In addition to the higher level of salt spray protection, products built from ALOX 2165 offer excellent water displacing, water separating, and non-staining properties. ALOX 2165 has been engineered to offer excellent solubility in a wide range of petroleum solvents and oils, including very low aromatic content solvents and synthetic oils, such as polyalphaolefins, which may address environmental and safety concerns.
