Dekaben PBH - Description
Dekaben PBH is a synergistic mixture of Benzoic Acid and Dehydroacetic Acid in Phenoxyethanol. It is based on the antibacterial efficacy of Phenoxyethanol, while Benzoic Acid and Dehydroacetic Acid complete the antimicrobial spectrum. Dehydroacetic Acid is a 'rediscovered' fungicide, and a welcome and acceptable ingredient in the world of changing views with respect to cosmetic preservation. The use of organic acids in food has also contributed to the overall acceptance of organic acids.
Dekaben PBH is characterised by a favourable toxicology profile, and suitable for a broad range of cosmetic products. As the efficacy is based on organic acids, a low pH will increase the antimicrobial efficacy.
