Desmodur® I - Description
Desmodur® I is a monomeric cycloaliphatic diisocyanate known as 3-isocyanatomethyl-3, 5,5-trimethylcyclohexyl isocyanate or IPDI. It is useful as a reactive building block for the preparation of chemical products, reactive intermediates and polymers.

The isocyanate groups present in Desmodur® I can undergo addition reactions at room temperature with compounds which contain active hydrogens, making it a valuable organic intermediate. The difference in reactivity between the isocyanate groups in Desmodur® I is especially useful in the preparation of polyurethane products.
