Duramac® WR water reducible alkyds are modified with special monomers and supplied in water soluble coupling solvents in order to allow them to become water soluble upon neutralization of the terminal acid groups. After they are applied, they become water insoluble, which makes them ideal when low VOC or water cleanup is important. Water reducible alkyds can be made in just about any of the variants available in solvent-borne alkyds, but because they are chosen mostly for industrial applications, they tend to be short oil or short oil with monomer modifications.

Duramac WR 74-7451 is a HAPS free water reducible alkyd which is an alternative to solvent based baking alkyd systems while offering properties comparable to solvent based short oil alkyd formulas. Excellent coating properties such as hardness, impact resistance, flexibility, gloss, and color retention are obtained at 275°F with methylated melamine resins. It also features good salt spray and humidity resistance and is designed to yield improved yellowing resistance over soya-based alkyds. Duramac WR 74-7451 is dip tank stable.



Duramac WR 74-7474 is a HAPS free water reducible chain-stopped short oil alkyd designed for air-dry and force-dry industrial DTM coatings. Coatings based on this resin exhibit excellent gloss and corrosion resistance as well as superior humidity and water resistance with fast dry rates. It is compatible with selected latex emulsions and can be formulated for good dip tank stability.



Duramac WR 74-7478 is a HAPS free water reducible phenolic-modified alkyd resin designed for use in corrosion resistant, non-lifting red oxide and black primers. This resin offers excellent enamel holdout, corrosion resistance, and a minimal recoat window.



Duramac WR 74-7495 is a fast dry HAPS free water reducible chain-stopped short oil alkyd designed for air and force-dry industrial DTM coatings. Coatings based on this resin exhibit excellent gloss, gloss retention and corrosion and water resistance. It is compatible with selected latex emulsions and can be formulated for good dip tank stability.



Duramac WR 207-1229 is a HAPS free water reducible short oil alkyd designed for air and force-dry industrial coatings for metal surfaces. Coatings based on this resin exhibit excellent gloss, gloss retention, and corrosion and water resistance.



Duramac WR 207-3074 is an EB-free version of Duramac WR 74-7474 designed for air-dry and force-dry industrial coatings. Coatings based on this resin exhibit excellent gloss and corrosion resistance as well as superior humidity and water resistance with fast dry rates. It is HAPS Free.



Duramac WR 207-3119 is an economical HAPS free water reducible short oil alkyd with a good balance of cost versus performance offering food gloss and low VOC.



Duramac WR 207-3497 is a HAPS free water reducible chain-stopped short oil alkyd designed for air-dry and force-dry industrial coatings where labeling restrictions or product specifications require a higher flash point than more typical water reducible alkyds. It exhibits improved open time, excellent cure response and good corrosion resistance, as well as early water resistance.



Duramac WR 207-3738 is a HAPS free water reducible chain-stopped short oil alkyd which is a value engineered polymer for air-dry and forced-cured industrial topcoats and primers. Coatings based on this resin exhibit excellent gloss, package stability and very good corrosion and water resistance.



Duramac WR 216-3610 is a water dispersible resin designed to produce stains with excellent penetration and performance when applied to wood and other porous substrates. It can be used in both interior and exterior exposures. This resin offer fast dry, good flexibility, excellent package stability and meets FDA 175.300
