Macopol Copolymer Alkyds

Conventional Solids Monomer Modified Alkyd Resins
Description

Macopol® copolymer alkyds have been copolymerized with various monomers to increase the speed of dry and improve film hardness. Depending on the type of monomers utilized other properties are enhanced as well, such as durability (acrylic), early water resistance (styrene), and aliphatic solvent tolerance (vinyl toluene).

Macopol 53-5303 is a VT-modified alkyd copolymer with extremely fast dry and good adhesion to a variety of substrates. If offers high gloss, fast recoat and sanding times.

Macopol 53-5306 is a very fast air-dry VT styrene-modified alkyd with good gloss and adhesion to wood surfaces. It has good compatibility with aerosol propellants.

Macopol 53-5356 is a VT-modified, linseed-based alkyd that forms durable coatings with fast dry. This resin finds use in both trade sales and industrial applications, offering good pigment wetting, rapid hardness development, and fast property development.

Macopol 53-5359 is a fast drying acrylic-modified alkyd copolymer designed for excellent exterior durability, color retention, and adhesion to metal surfaces. This resin has good solvent and chemical resistance and exhibits good compatibility with acrylic resins. It can be crosslinked with compatible urea or melamine resins.

Macopol 214-1003 is a very fast air-dry VT styrene-modified alkyd that exhibits fast solvent release, excellent appearance, and very hard film capabilities. It also exhibits very good aliphatic tolerance and takes high pigment loading while retaining excellent gloss in enamel finishes.

Macopol 214-1008 is a VT-modified alkyd copolymer featuring excellent gloss, and hardness. This resin formulates easily into paints with very fast air-dry rates, scratch and mar resistance, and low odor. Macopol 214-1008 can also be used in stain blocking primers.

Macopol 214-1025 is a fast-drying styrene-modified alkyd with good durability, gloss, appearance and gloss retention. It can be air dried or force cured.

Macopol 214-1092 is a VT-modified alkyd copolymer with extremely fast dry and excellent exterior durability and color retention as well as excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates. It can be formulated into stain blocking primers and it has good compatibility with aerosol propellants.

Macopol 214-1524 is a fast drying acrylic-modified alkyd resin with rapid dry to handle times, high gloss, and excellent exterior durability.

Macopol 214-1530 is a VT styrene-modified alkyd exhibiting excellent appearance, fast sanding and recoating properties, good adhesion to wood surfaces, and improved flexibility on metal substrates.
