Mistron RCS - Description
Mistron RCS is a very high purity, high-brightness, 51/2-Hegman talc product with low oil adsorption and minimal viscosity build. Mistron RCS is part of the Engineered series of Imerys Talc products that have unique particle size distributions for improved paint performance properties. Mistron RCS is an excellent choice for modern protective coatings applications due to its hydrophobic nature, very low mineral solubility, and proven anti-corrosion performance. Mistron RCS disperses easily in high-solids and solvent-borne coatings, and gives very good paint stability, rheology, and anti-settling properties.
Mistron RCS has demonstrated excellent weathering properties in both solvent-borne and waterborne paints. Mistron RCS is recommended for sanding and flatting properties in pigmented, clear and semi-transparent wood coatings and UV-cure coatings. Mistron RCS is recommended for low-HAPS and VOC-compliant polyester coatings applications where high mineral brightness is important.
Mistron RCS could also be used in plastics to enhance stiffness, HDT and dimensional stability. In rubber, it reduces viscosity, improves processing and acts as a dusting/parting agent.
