Neoflon EFEP Melt Resins

Ethylene, Tetrafluoroethylene, and Hexafluoropropylene Fluoropolymers

Neoflon EFEP Melt Resins - Description

EFEP is a polymer unique to Daikin. It is a terpolymer of ethyelene, tetrafluoroethylene, and hexafluoropropylene. It was designed to have many of the mechanical properties of ETFE, but with a lower processing temperature, allowing it to be coextruded with conventional thermopostic polymers. EFEP is also designed to adhere to many conventional plastics such as polyamide, EVOH, and modified polyethylene without the use of adhesives or tie layers. It is used in monowall tubing, multilayer tubing, low permeation automotive fuel hose, catheters and blow molded bottles and containers. It can be extruded, injection molded and blow molded.   Available grades include:

Neoflon EFEP RP-4020: Developed for tubing extrusion and injection molding applications.

Neoflon EFEP RP-5000:  Functionalized fluoropolymer that can be coextruded with other resins such as polyamides and form strong bonding between the layers. It has excellent processability. Developed for tubing extrusion and injection molding applications.

Neoflon EFEP RP-5000AS:  Functionalized and conductive EFEP developed primarily for tubing extrusion. It can be coextruded with other resins such as polyamides directly and has excellent processability.
