Nicron 402 - Description
Nicron 402 is a high purity, 4-Hegman microcrystalline talc product with low oil adsorption and minimal viscosity build.
Nicron 402 is part of the Engineered series of Imerys Talc products that have unique particle size distributions for improved paint performance properties. Nicron 402 is an excellent choice for modern protective coatings applications due to its hydrophobic nature, very low mineral solubility, and proven anti-corrosion performance. Nicron® 402 disperses easily in high-solids and solvent-borne coatings, and gives very good paint stability, rheology, and anti-settling properties.
Nicron 402 has demonstrated excellent weathering properties in both solvent-borne and waterborne paints. Nicron 402 is recommended for architectural flat exterior latex paints for low sheen, good touch-up, and good fade- and chalk resistance.
Nicron 402 could also be used in plastics as a cost-effective reinforcing agent to improve stiffness, HDT and dimensional stability.
