NYGLOS - Description
Nyglos grades are high-purity, ultrafine, high aspect ratio wolastonites.
Wollastonite (calcium metasilicate or CaSiO3) is a naturally occurring mineral with a needle-like particle shape. It is usually white and can withstand temperatures up to 1540°C.
Wollastonite is a highly functional, value-added performance reinforcement that adds functionality in a vast range of applications. Its high aspect-ratio makes wollastonite beneficial in many physical reinforcement applications for a broad range of industrial and consumer products.
Wollastonite enhances the performance of many products including plastics, paint and coatings, construction materials, friction, horticultural, ceramic and metallurgical applications. Its high melting point, low coefficient of thermal expansion and low thermal/conductivity make it an ideal mineral for these diverse applications. A wide range of different particle size grades are available to achieve desired properties.
