SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590

SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590 is designed to produce a general-purpose semi-synthetic water extendable concentrate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals (including aluminum). It makes a long-lasting fluid with excellent hard water stability, strong corrosion protection, moderate foaming tendency, and provides a high degree of lubricity. SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590 should be used at a 25-50% treat rate in water to make a fully functioning low oil semi-synthetic concentrate. This concentrate can be used as low as 2% in water or higher depending on the application. Proper biocides/fungicides should be used to keep this product protected. SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590 can also be used to make soluble oils. For this application, use 13-17% SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590 in a naphthenic base oil. Addition of 1-2% oleic acid to the oil prior to the addition of SEMI-SYNTHETIC BASE 2590 may be required to improve the stability of the finished soluble oil. This flexibility is useful for making a semi-synthetic and a soluble oil while only stocking one base package.
