DESMODUR BL 2078/2

DESMODUR BL 2078/2 is a blocked aliphatic polyisocyanate based on IPDI developed by Covestro. It is used in combination with OH-functional polyols, preferably Desmophen T-grade OH-functional polyesters, in the formulation of lightfast, one-component polyurethane coatings, especially for applications requiring corrosion resistance and weatherability. DESMODUR BL 2078/2 offers crosslinking properties certified for indirect food contact use, making it suitable for producing durable coatings for infrastructure. It allows formulating coatings with balanced hardness and elasticity, lowering required curing temperatures without affecting storage stability. DESMODUR BL 2078/2 enhances flexibility and sterilization resistance in can coatings, curing at 200°C within 12 minutes. It is a versatile hardener supporting customized performance through mixed systems.
