BAYBOND XL 825 is a waterbased aliphatic blocked polyisocyanate crosslinker suitable for use in glassfiber sizings formulations. As per the product datasheet, BAYBOND XL 825 shows good colorfastness properties even at elevated temperatures when used for sizing of glass fibers used in combination with Baybond binders to reinforce thermoplastics, particularly polyamide. Glass fiber sizes based on BAYBOND XL 825 develop fully mechanical film properties by postcrosslinking at temperatures from 170°C for a duration of 20 minutes. BAYBOND XL 825 provides benefits like flexibility, impact strength and adhesion when used as an additive in waterborne systems or for formulation of water-reducible, lightfast one-component coatings.
