Surfynol 104:  A nonionic wetting agent and molecular defoamer (100% active waxy solid) that provides a unique combination of performance benefits. Surfynol 104 has a unique chemical structure that allows this product to provide multifunctional properties such as surface tension reduction, foam control, and viscosity stabilization. The hydrophobic nature of Surfynol 104 typically results in significantly reduced water sensitivity compared to either conventional ethoxylated or anionic surfactants. Due to its multifunctional properties, Surfynol 104 can provide performance benefits in many waterborne applications such as coatings, paints, adhesives, inks, pigment manufacture and dispersion, cements, metalworking lubricants, agricultural chemicals, and dye processing. As a 100% active wax, it contains no added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).  Surfynol 104 is available in a number of solvent cuts as well as powdered forms:

  • Surfynol 104A: 50% active solution of Surfynol 104 in 2-Ethylhexanol
  • Surfynol 104BC:  50% active solution of Surfynol 104 in 2-Butoxyethanol
  • Surfynol 104DPM:  50% active solution of Surfynol 104 in Dipropyleneglycol Monomethylether
  • Surfynol 104E:  50% active solution of Surfynol 104 in Ethylene Glycol

Surfynol 107L:  A nonionic wetting agent, molecular defoamer, and coalescing surfactant based on a patented Gemini technology. It provides strong molecular defoaming and efficient dynamic wetting benefits in all waterborne applications. Surfynol 107L also provides coalescing benefits in waterborne coatings. No added solvents, APEs, silicones or fluorosurfactants and is suitable for low and zero VOC formulations.

Surfynol 2502:  A low foam dynamic wetting agent based on patented Gemini surfactant technology. It has been designed to deliver excellent wetting and high water solubilty while adding no foam to aqueous systems. Surfynol 2502 can provide specific performance benefits in a broad range of water-based systems, including numerous types of coatings, inks, adhesives and industrial specialty applications. It is also easy to incorporate and is stable in hard water. As a 100% active liquid, Surfynol 2502 surfactant contains no added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs).

Surfynol 420:  Performs as a dynamic wetting agent and molecular defoamer in a wide variety of applications, including waterborne coatings, inks, adhesives, agricultural chemicals, and numerous industrial specialty applications. It is a 100% active, easy-to-handle liquid that contains no added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Surfynol 420 complies with several regulations needed for applications requiring food contact compliances in the U.S., Europe and Asia, as well as EPA compliances needed for use in agricultural chemical applications.

Surfynol 440:  An ethoxylated low-foam wetting agent (100% active liquid). Surfynol 440 provides low foam dynamic and equilibrium surface tension reduction with improved dispersibility and ease of incorporation in waterborne coatings, inks, and adhesives systems. FDA and EPA clearances, no added hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) or APEs.

Surfynol 465:  Performs as a low foaming dynamic wetting agent in a wide variety of applications, including waterborne coatings, inks, adhesives, agricultural chemicals, and numerous industrial specialty applications. It is a 100% active, easy-to-handle liquid that contains no added alkylphenol ethoxylates (APEs) or hazardous air pollutants (HAPs). Surfynol 465 complies with several regulations needed for applications requiring food contact compliances in the U.S., Europe and Asia, as well as EPA compliances needed for use in agricultural chemical applications.

Surfynol 485:  An ethoxylated low foam dynamic wetting agent (100% active liquid/semi-solid) for a wide variety of applications, including waterborne coatings, inks, adhesives, agricultural chemicals, and numerous industrial specialty applications.  Provides low foam surface tension reduction with slight emulsification properties, improved solubility and compatibility in waterborne coatings, inks, and adhesives systems. FDA and EPA clearances, no added solvents or APEs.

Surfynol 485W:  An ethoxylated low foam dynamic wetting agent (75% active solution in water) for a wide variety of applications, including waterborne coatings, inks, adhesives, agricultural chemicals, and numerous industrial specialty applications.  Provides low foam surface tension reduction with slight emulsification properties, improved solubility and compatibility in waterborne coatings, inks, and adhesives systems. FDA and EPA clearances, no added solvents or APEs.

Surfynol 500S:  A powdered nonionic wetting agent and molecular defoamer. Surfynol 500S is a powdered preparation that provides rapid wetting of solid particles, fillers, pigments, and fibers; fast mixing and enhanced workability of cementious systems for the construction industry. FDA clearances, no added APEs.  Surfynol 500S surfactant offers outstanding pigment wetting and prevents pigment reagglomeration, thereby allowing homogeneous dispersion of solid particles into the mixture.  Since floating of particles to the surface are suppressed, this results in a surface without spots, craters and few or no dry cracks. Additionally, Surfynol 500S allows applicators to increase the pumping speed, keep sprayers clean and spray nozzles lubricated, all of which result in enhanced productivity.  Surfynol 500S is universally applicable for use in both neutral and alkaline systems. It can be used with all other powder components or in association with cement, emulsion and powder polymers, hydrocolloids, fibers and water repellents, while providing extended dry mix shelf life.

Surfynol 61:  A volatile wetting agent (100% active liquid). Surfynol 61 surfactant is a multifunctional surface active agent based on acetylenic chemistry that provides substrate wetting in systems where surfactant residues or contamination are undesirable, such as silicon wafer or glass cleaning. The properties of Surfynol 61 allow it to completely evaporate under normal use conditions in a variety of aqueous systems. No added solvents or APEs.

Surfynol AD01:  A nonionic wetting agent, molecular defoamer, and coalescing surfactant based on Gemini technology.  Surfynol AD01 can provide antifoaming, defoaming, and dynamic wetting in waterborne applications.  It offers fast knock-down defoaming and outstanding foam control.  No added solvents or APEs.

Surfynol DF-110C/DF-110D/DF-110L:  Nonionic, organic molecular defoamers. These defoamers are acetylenic diol-based products that provide defoaming and de-airentraining in aqueous systems without the side effects typical of many traditional foam control agents. Benefits include microfoam elimination, long-lasting foam control, defect-free foam control, and good dynamic wetting. No added APEs.  Available in different solvent cuts:

  • Surfynol DF-110C:  20% active liquid in methoxypolyethyleneglycol
  • Surfynol DF-110D:  32% active liquid in dipropylene glycol S
  • Surfynol DF-110L:  20% active liquid in ethylene glycol and dipropylene glycol

Surfynol DF-178:  A formulated siloxane-based defoamer and deaerator (100% active liquid) developed specifically for applications in waterborne coatings and graphic arts that demand both powerful defoaming and defect-free surfaces. Provides strong defoaming and microfoam control and is particularly effective in spray applications. No added APEs.

Surfynol DF-220:  A 100% active liquid mineral oil-based defoamer that contains no added silicone, silica, or alkyl phenol ethoxylates (APEs). This defoamer can provide not only high initial efficacy, but also long-term sustained defoaming. It is a clear, low viscosity liquid that has been specifically designed to be used in a variety of water-based formulations, including printing inks, coatings, and adhesives.  Surfynol DF-220 is ideally suited for architectural and medium- to high-PVC systems.

Surfynol DF-37:  A versatile oil based defoamer that is an effective foam control agent in latex dipping processes as well as coating and ink formulations.  It also promotes surface wetting of low energy substrates like plastics and contaminated or improperly cleaned surfaces.  FDA compliant under certain regulations. No added APEs.

Surfynol DF-58:  A proprietary siloxane-based defoamer (100% active liquid) that provides strong foam control and deaeration performance in water-based formulations. This product was designed for water-borne coatings and inks where strong, rapid defoaming is required.  No added APEs.

Surfynol DF-62:  A proprietary ether-modified polysiloxane defoamer (100% active liquid) that provides an excellent balance of initial foam knockdown and sustained antifoaming over time in water-based formulations. Especially useful when long term defoamer efficacy is desired.  No added APEs or HAPs.

Surfynol DF-66:  A proprietary modified polysiloxane based defoamer that provides an excellent balance of initial foam knockdown and sustained antifoaming over time in water-based formulations. It is recommended for use in pigment grinding and letdown applications in inks, wood and plastic coatings, light duty industrial maintenance coatings, pigment dispersions and other water-based formulations.  FDA compliances, no added APEs.

Surfynol DF-695:  A proprietary silicone emulsion defoamer designed for use in aqueous coatings and inks.  It is recommended for use in grinding and dispersion as well as letdown applications.  Provides initial and sustained defoaming performance in water-based formulations. FDA compliances, no added APEs.

Surfynol DF-75: An organic-based mineral oil-free additive designed to provide knockdown and sustained defoaming in a wide variety of water-based formulations. Performance benefits can be obtained when this product is incorporated into aqueous inks, overprint varnishes, coatings, adhesives and paper coatings. This compound is particularly useful for foam control in systems that are based upon acrylic resins.

Surfynol FS-85:  An anionic/nonionic wetting agent designed for use in lithographic fountain solutions. Provides important wetting and emulsification properties, allowing the elimination of solvents and other undesirable additives from fountain solution formulations. No added APEs.

Surfynol MD-20:  A nonionic, organic molecular defoaming/deaerating wetting agent (100% active liquid) based on proprietary modified acetylenic diol chemistry. Provides foam control and reduces microfoam without any of the incompatibilities or other issues associated with silicone or mineral oil defoamers. No added APEs.

Surfynol MD-610S:  A highly effective powder defoamer designed to eliminate air entrapment in cementitious based products for the construction industry. The unique chemistry of Surfynol MD-610S combines the benefits of fast-acting defoaming with long-lasting deaeration at a molecular level.  It enables the fast escape of entrapped air while incorporating water and during mixing. The resulting cementitious compositions exhibit enhanced flow, excellent self-leveling, reduced air content and a smooth and defect-free hardened surface. Surfynol MD-610S is universally applicable for use in both neutral and alkaline systems.

Surfynol OP-340:  An anionic/nonionic wetting agent.  Surfynol OP-340 is a proprietary additive designed specifically for use in waterborne overprint varnish systems. Helps eliminate surface tension related issues like poor wetting, retraction, surface defects, or orange peel over both wet and dry lithographic inks. FDA compliances. No added APEs.

Surfynol PC:  A molecular defoamer, Surfynol PC is a proprietary formulation designed specifically to provide foam control and pigment shock reduction in paper coating formulations. Provides long-lasting defoamer activity. Stable through continued recycling of the formulation. No added APEs.

Surfynol PSA204:  A formulated wetting agent (75% active liquid) based on a proprietary combination of surface active chemistries. Provides low dynamic surface tension and substrate wetting with very low foam generation in waer-based pressure sensitive and laminating adhesives. Solvent and APE free.

Surfynol PSA336:  A formulated wetting agent (80% active solution in water) based on a proprietary combination of surface active chemistries. Provides very low dynamic surface tension and substrate wetting while minimizing foam creation in water-based pressure sensitive and laminating adhesives. No added solvents or APEs.

Surfynol SE:  A self-emulsifiable nonionic dynamic wetting agent and defoamer (80% active liquid in water) based on acetylenic diol chemistry. In addition to wetting, it also has antifoaming properties in many aqueous formulations.  It forms stable emulsions in water at concentrations up to 75% by volume.  Provides similar performance to Surfynol 104, but improved handling and incorporation in a wide variety of aqueous systems. APE-free.

Surfynol SE-F:  A self-emulsifiable nonionic dynamic wetting agent and defoamer based on acetylenic diol chemistry. In addition to wetting, it also has antifoaming properties in many aqueous formulations. It forms stable emulsions in water at concentrations up to 75% by volume. This improves the ease of incorporation into aqueous systems. In most cases, brief mixing is all that is required to achieve a homogeneous formulation.  Provides similar performance to Surfynol SE, but with greater FDA approvals in a wide variety of aqueous systems. FDA compliance, no added APEs.
