BAYBOND XL 825 is a waterbased aliphatic blocked polyisocyanate that is suitable for use as a crosslinker for glassfiber sizings. BAYBOND XL 825 can be used in combination with Bayhydrol® polyols for the formulation of water-reducible, lightfast one-component polyurethane baking coatings and as an additive in waterborne baking systems to improve flexibility, impact strength and adhesion. These properties make BAYBOND XL 825 well-suited for applications that require durable, impact-resistant and adhesive coatings, such as in advanced material composites where glass fiber is used to reinforce thermoplastics. Glass fiber sizes based on BAYBOND XL 825 are characterized by their good colorfastness, even at elevated temperatures, important for withstanding processing conditions without degradation of material properties.
