DYNASYLAN IBTMO

DYNASLYAN IBTMO is an alkyltrialkoxysilane surface modifier and component that is commonly used in sol-gel systems. It contains an isobutyl group that adds organic character to the siloxane network. DYNASYLAN IBTMO can be used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity and improve filler dispersion in advanced material applications. The short-chain alkyl functionality of DYNASYLAN IBTMO results in unique compound properties when incorporated into advanced materials, such as significantly reduced water-uptake and strongly reduced stress cracking. DYNASYLAN IBTMO is also an important starting material for sol-gel processes in advanced material manufacturing. It adds a certain amount of organic character to the siloxane network, due to the isobutyl group in the product. This pre-hydrolysis is often done in conjunction with other organofunctional silanes or silicic acid esters to control the amount of inorganic character of advanced material networks.
