BAYBOND PU 2728 is an Anionic/non-ionic polycarbonate-polyether urethane polymer. Glass fiber sizes based on Baybond® PU 2728 are characterized by their outstanding film-forming properties and very good adhesion which also exhibits outstanding hydrolysis resistance and colorfastness and is also very stable against shear forces. As the film-forming component in glass fiber sizes, furthermore, BAYBOND PU 2728 was developed for the sizing of glass fibers used to reinforce thermoplastics, particularly polyamide. Generally speaking, the product is compatible with the additives normally used in the formulation of glass sizes, e.g. adhesion promoters, lubricants, antistatic agents, and plasticizers.
